“Osechi” are traditional special foods which are eaten on New
Year's Day in Japan, such as black beans, tai fish (red sea-bream), and
kazunoko (herring roe). They are believed to be lucky. Osechi is
traditionally homemade, but nowadays, some people buy it at the store.
Why don't you come to Japan on New Year's Day, and eat Oshechi?
